Research
Glioblastoma research is evolving rapidly. This page highlights clinical trials, scientific papers and news that may be relevant to patients and families. We aim to make emerging developments easier to discover and understand, while being transparent about the strength and limitations of the available evidence.
You can also meet our Scientific Advisory Committee and read our Scientific Statement which explains how we select, assess and present scientific information. We do not conduct clinical research or provide medical advice; our goal is to support informed discussions between patients and their medical teams.

Scientific Literature

06
This is the space to showcase the specific characteristics and capabilities that make your product stand out.
This page brings together important scientific publications across key areas of glioblastoma care and research. The literature is organised by topic and includes landmark studies, emerging clinical evidence and selected review articles.
The collection is intended as a research resource and will be expanded as new evidence becomes available.

09
Studies of viruses designed to destroy tumour cells and stimulate immunity.
Research into symptom management, quality of life and complementary approaches.
A group of glioblastoma patients survive for many years. Their experiences may help identify factors linked to better outcomes.
This is a curated and evolving selection rather than a complete systematic literature review. Inclusion does not mean that a treatment is proven, approved or suitable for every patient. Treatment decisions should always be discussed with a qualified medical professional.
11
Explore how glioblastoma is diagnosed and how test results can inform treatment decisions, from established care to emerging approaches.

Highlighted Trials
Sonocloud-9 & Carboplatin
Phase: II/III
ClinicalTrials.gov ID: NCT05902169
Sonocloud-9 in Association With Carboplatin Versus Standard-of-Care Chemotherapies (CCNU or TMZ) in Recurrent GBM (SONOBIRD). The SonoCloud-9 (SC9) is an investigational device using ultrasound technology and specially developed to open the BBB in the area of and surrounding the tumour.
Study of TLX101-Tx Plus Standard of Care (SoC) Versus SoC Alone
Phase: I
ClinicalTrials.gov ID: NCT07100730
This global clinical trial which evaluates the efficacy and safety of TLX101-Tx, an investigational radiopharmaceutical therapy, in combination with lomustine versus lomustine alone in adult patients with first recurrence of glioblastoma.
EF-41/ Study of Optune Concomitant With Temozolomide Plus Pembrolizumab in Newly Diagnosed Glioblastoma
Phase: III
ClinicalTrials.gov ID: NCT06556563
This is a multicenter, two-arm, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study of Optune® (Tumor Treating Fields at 200 kHz) together with maintenance Temozolomide (TMZ) chemotherapy agent and pembrolizumab compared to Optune® together with maintenance TMZ and placebo in newly diagnosed Glioblastoma (GBM) patients. The primary objective of the study is to evaluate the Overall Survival (OS)
A Trial to Evaluate Multiple Regimens in Newly Diagnosed and Recurrent Glioblastoma (GBM AGILE)
Phase: III
ClinicalTrials.gov ID: NCT03970447
Glioblastoma (GBM) adaptive, global, innovative learning environment (GBM AGILE) is an international, seamless Phase II/III response adaptive randomization platform trial designed to evaluate multiple therapies in newly diagnosed (ND) and recurrent GBM.
You can also search for clinical trials yourself. One of the most comprehensive international resources is ClinicalTrials.gov, where you can search by condition, treatment, location and recruitment status.

Long-term Survival Trends in IDH-mutant Glioblastoma Patients
Published: 3 June 2026
This study analyzed molecular data from 181 patients with glioblastoma treated with immune-checkpoint inhibitors. Tumors with a mesenchymal transcriptional state were associated with longer survival, especially when accompanied by greater T-cell infiltration and HLA-I expression. The findings suggest a potential biomarker for selecting patients, but require prospective validation and do not establish checkpoint inhibitors as effective for all GBM patients.
Intracranial delivery of B7-H3-targeting CAR-T cells for recurrent glioblastoma: a phase 1 trial
Published: 06 August 2026
This phase 1 trial evaluated repeated intracranial infusions of B7-H3-targeted CAR-T cells in 15 patients with recurrent, B7-H3-positive glioblastoma. Treatment was generally manageable, disease control was observed in 8 of 14 evaluable patients, including one sustained complete response. Although encouraging, these early results from a small, non-randomized study require confirmation in a larger phase 2 trial.
Glioblastoma in adults: A SNO and EANO consensus review on current management and future directions
Published: 13 August 2025
This comprehensive consensus review summarizes the current diagnosis and treatment of adult glioblastoma. It covers surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, Tumor Treating Fields, molecular profiling and management at recurrence. The authors also discuss emerging approaches, including targeted therapies, immunotherapy, improved drug delivery and innovative clinical-trial designs.
Real World Observations
A real-world observation of patients with glioblastoma treated with a personalized peptide vaccine
This real-world study followed 173 patients with glioblastoma who received a personalized peptide vaccine targeting tumor-specific neoantigens.
The vaccine was generally well tolerated and induced a measurable T-cell response in most monitored patients.
Patients who developed multiple vaccine-specific immune responses showed notably longer survival than those with no or limited response.
Individualized Multimodal Immunotherapy for Adults
with IDH1Wild-Type GBM: A Single Institute Experience
This retrospective study explored individualized multimodal immunotherapy alongside standard treatment for glioblastoma. The results suggest that this approach may be feasible and potentially improve survival, but controlled clinical trials are needed to confirm its effectiveness.
Long-term survival, patterns of progression, and patterns of use for patients with newly diagnosed glioblastoma treated with or without Tumor Treating Fields (TTFields) in a real-world setting
This real-world study compared 208 patients with newly diagnosed glioblastoma treated with or without Tumor Treating Fields. TTFields use was associated with longer overall and progression-free survival, supporting its benefit alongside standard treatment in routine clinical practice
