Research Statement
Our Approach to Research and Scientific Review
Glioblastoma research is developing rapidly, but the available evidence is often fragmented, highly technical and difficult for patients and families to interpret. Our purpose is to make this information more accessible, structured and transparent.
We do not conduct laboratory or clinical research, and we do not provide medical advice. Instead, we identify, review and explain publicly available evidence from peer-reviewed publications, clinical-trial registries, scientific conferences, regulatory authorities and other reputable sources.
Our work focuses not only on what a study reports, but also on how strong the evidence is. We consider the study design, number and characteristics of the patients involved, relevant molecular or clinical subgroups, statistical limitations, potential sources of bias and the questions that remain unanswered. We clearly distinguish established evidence from preliminary findings, scientific hypotheses and personal experience.
Scientific Advisory Committee
The website is supported by a multidisciplinary Scientific Advisory Committee with expertise in areas including clinical research, statistics, pharmacology, epidemiology, demography and related scientific disciplines.
The committee does not select treatments for individual patients or endorse particular therapies. Its role is to strengthen the quality and integrity of our work by:

advising on how scientific evidence should be identified, evaluated and presented;

reviewing selected treatment summaries and other high-impact scientific content;

challenging assumptions and identifying possible bias, uncertainty or overinterpretation;

helping assess subgroup findings and their potential relevance to different patient profiles;

recommending corrections, updates and areas requiring further investigation; and

helping us communicate complex scientific information accurately and understandably.
Scientific input improves our editorial process, but it does not replace review by qualified medical specialists. Unless explicitly stated, committee participation should not be interpreted as approval of every individual page, treatment or opinion published on the website.
Our Commitment to Transparency
Wherever possible, we will provide the original sources, publication date, level and limitations of the evidence, and the date on which the information was last reviewed. Preliminary results, conference presentations and non-peer-reviewed findings will be identified as such. Relevant interests or relationships that could influence interpretation will also be disclosed.
Our goal is not to tell patients which treatment to choose. It is to help patients and families understand the available evidence, recognize important uncertainties, ask better questions and have more informed conversations with specialized neuro-oncology teams.
All treatment decisions must be made together with appropriately qualified treating physicians.
